Add-ons & Modifiers

Build addon groups, configure required vs optional selections, and set per-addon pricing.

Add-ons let customers customise items at the Cashier POS — milk type, extra shots, sauce choices, size upgrades, and more. Configure them in the Management Software and they appear automatically on the POS when a cashier adds that item.

Addon groups vs addons

TermDescriptionExample
Addon GroupA labelled set of related options for one item"Milk Type", "Extras", "Sauce Choice"
AddonAn individual option within a group"Oat Milk +Rs.80", "Extra Shot +Rs.80"

Creating an addon group

  1. 1
    Go to Menu → Add-ons
    Click New Addon Group.
  2. 2
    Name the group
e.g. "Milk Type" or "Extras". This label appears on the POS selection screen.
  3. 3
    Set required / optional
Required groups must be selected before the item is added to the order. Optional groups can be skipped.
  4. 4
    Add individual addons
Click Add Option for each choice. Enter the name and price (0 for free options).
  5. 5
    Link to category
Link the group to the relevant category, then save.

Addon configuration options

SettingDescription
RequiredCashier cannot add the item to the order without selecting an option from this group
Free option priceSet to Rs.0 — does not increase the order total
Paid option priceAdded to the item price when selected — shown on receipt

Category-level addon groups

You can assign an addon group to an entire category so it automatically applies to every item in that category. Useful for a "Drink Size" group that applies to all beverages — configure once, applies everywhere.

Keep addon groups focused — one group per decision type. "Extras" that mix milk type and sweetness level are confusing for cashiers. Separate them into two groups.

Bulk configuration

Use the Bulk Assign feature under Add-ons to apply an addon group to multiple items at once — select items across categories and assign with one click.
